The Our Place team support children and young people with additional needs and their families.
In each children's and youth venue there is an Our Place inclusion team who are there to support children and young people who have additional needs to be included in the mainstream activities in the way most appropriate way to them. We liaise closely with parents to ensure your child's needs are met to the best of our abilities through 1:1 support, 1:2 support, small group support and extra training for small group leaders. Each venue is equipped with resources to make inclusion work and there is a safe space at the back where children can withdraw if it all becomes too much.
Our Place Kids and Our Place Youth
In addition to our inclusion teams, we have two venues specifically for children and youth who find it difficult to access mainstream venues. These venues run programmes of worship, teaching and ministry especially for individuals with additional needs. We open later than the mainstream venues to give everyone the opportunity to be included with their peers. We also run drop in sessions during the afternoon in order to provide a safe space for delegates who have additional needs and their families during their free time.
If your child requires any additional support to access United, then please make sure that the ‘additional needs’ box is ticked when booking the ticket. You will then be asked to complete a form which enables us to support individuals as best as we can.
