At New Wine we are passionate about making the Church accessible to everyone. We take pride in providing services at the New Wine Festival that are accessible to everyone, such as the dedicated venues, Our Place, Access, and Breathe for those in the community with additional needs. Additionally, we offer accessibility services in other venues to help people engage.
It is important to know that the New Wine Festival takes place at an agricultural showground, so total accessibility throughout the site cannot be guaranteed. Although all main venues have dedicated seating areas and are accessible, access around the site may not be suitable for everyone. Furthermore, due to the nature of the site, the locations of accessible toilets, showers, and electrical hook-ups are limited. Therefore, we are unable to offer fully accessible camping throughout the site. We strive to install accessible toilets and showers wherever possible, exceeding the recommended guidelines set by the Purple Guidance to Health, Safety & Welfare at Music and Other Events.
If this is your first time attending New Wine, here are some things it might be helpful for you to know:
- New Wine is mostly camping, although some do choose to stay off site. This means that the weather can affect mobility getting around site.
- Everything is not as close as it may be at home, which means more walking than normal. Please bring any mobility aids with you to enable to you to get around site. We don’t have the facility to hire mobility scooters, but we do have space to charge them in site services.
- Remember that your time at New Wine will be different than at home. New Wine is noisy and busy, please consider how this may impact your physical and mental health whilst you are at New Wine.
We have several things in place to support those with site accessibility requirements. If you or anyone on your booking would like any specific support from our accessible church ministry team, please complete an additional needs form on booking.
If you or anyone on your booking would like to request a particular camping requirement, please email this to our team on info@new-wine.org.
Please note that due to the nature of the site, it's not possible to be in both a central camping village (short distance from venues) and a quiet village. This is because the quieter villages are naturally situated further away from venues. Please consider this balance when requesting specific camping requirements.
