There are two steps to completing a new DBS check through New Wine - the online application form and having your 3 documents verified and sent to us.

Step 1 - Online Application:
- Go to the Online Disclosures website using this link
- Click the button titled 'Standard/Enhanced DBS Application' or 'Basic Application Disclosure' (Finance and Prayer Teams only)
- When prompted, enter the Organisation Reference 13558 and the organisation code 'NEW13558' (case sensitive)
- You will now be able to begin your online DBS application.
Step 2 - Verifying Documents:
As part of the application process, you will be asked to provide three identification documents - see options here. Once you have submitted your online DBS application you will then need to have all three ID documents verified by someone within Church Leadership (eg, Vicar, Youth Leader, Kids & Families Pastor, Operations Pastor, Church Warden, Safeguarding Officer etc) or a Church Administrator.
Please forward these instructions to your nominated verifier.
(You can also get your documents verified by the Post Office for a small fee.)
Important Note: Your three pieces of ID documentation must be within the date range given for the document in question (see here). If it is not within the required dates, your DBS application will be invalid.
Step 3 - Update Service:
Once you receive your DBS certificate in the post, please upload it to the Update Service within 30 days of the issue date (located in the top right hand corner of the certificate) so we can reuse your DBS year on year or ANY other organisation when it’s the same workforce (unless they request this). As you are a volunteer this is free and you can find out more information on the government website https://www.gov.uk/dbs-update-service.
Please also file your DBS certificate in a safe place because if you need your DBS checked on the Update Service, you will need to send a photo of your certificate.
